She obtained her PhD from the University of Melbourne, where she conducted her research at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute. Following a period at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, she spent two years as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Catteruccia Lab at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her research focuses on host\u2013parasite interactions, with particular emphasis on the mosquito stages of <em>Plasmodium<\/em>, especially sporozoites. As part of a large collaborative initiative, her recent work led to the development of a single-cell atlas of <em>P. falciparum<\/em> mosquito stages, uncovering previously uncharacterised interactions between parasites and mosquito midgut cells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lisa\u2019s expertise spans the entire <em>Plasmodium<\/em> life cycle across multiple species.
